Many Real Madrid players have been selected for their respective nations in the 2022 FIFA World. The list includes the Brazilian trifecta of Eder Militao, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Croatian Captain  Luka Modric, and Federico Valverde of Uruguay. France’s Karim Benzema was in the French squad for the World cup but returned home after an early injury.

However, one Real Madrid player who has missed out on the World Cup is Ferland Mendy. Didier Deschamps didn’t select the Real Madrid full-back for the French team, which is stacked with competitions. This could be a massive blow for Mendy, who has become a crucial member of the Los Blancos backline since joining the club in 2019. The full-back has already featured in over 120 competitive matches for Los Blancos, racking up five goals and 15 assists.
