REVEALED: All you need to know about Sadio Mane’s contract and wages at Bayern Munich
Liverpool striker Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane became a prime target for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, with Liverpool rejecting early offers for the forward, who had just 12 months to run on his contract at Anfield.
Now with the early acquisition of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, Mane is set to sign a three-year contract with the German champions after Liverpool accepted a bid of up to £35.1 million for the Senegal international. Mane is expected to earn £250,000 per week at the Allianz Arena, according to The Mirror.
It represents a significant increase over his current weekly salary at Liverpool, which is thought to be around £100,000 per week. Mane has just one year left on his current contract at Anfield, and the Reds have decided to cash in rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Mane and Liverpool held contract talks earlier this season, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement. The former Southampton forward reportedly requested a weekly salary increase to £400,000 per week. That figure would have put him in line with the top earners in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah, who has only one year left on his Liverpool contract, is said to have requested a similar figure in his contract negotiations with the club, which are still ongoing. Salah, along with Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara, is already one of Liverpool’s highest-paid players. Salah and Thiago are thought to earn around £200,000 per week, while Van Dijk is paid £220,000 per week.
Mane is expected to join Bayern Munich next week after passing a medical with the Bundesliga champions.
Sadio Mane is a Liverpool legend and his goal-scoring prowess stands along with current Premier League superstars
Sadio Mane scored 90 goals in 196 Premier League games for Liverpool after joining from Southampton in 2016. Only Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy (104), Mane’s Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah (118) and Tottenham’s Harry Kane (134) have managed more in the competition across that period.
Mane also played 51 games for Liverpool in the 2021-22 season only 10 players across Europe’s top five leagues appeared more often finding the net 23 times and assisting two more. That was not enough to help Klopp’s side to Premier League or Champions League success, but Mane did manage to lift the EFL Cup and FA Cup trophies with the Reds in his final season at the club.
Mane won the Premier League and Champions League in previous seasons with the Reds, as well as the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
