The Premier League revealed its PFA team of the season recently and it featured some of the best performers in the Premier League this year. However, some very popular names were missing from the team that fans expected to see. The biggest one was that of Rodri who was overseen and Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara was picked instead.

Many fans even considered that Declan Rice should have been picked over Thiago. The Spanish midfielder made only 17 starts in the Premier League this season where he managed 1 goal and 4 assists. On the other hand, Manchester City’s Rodri had 33 starts in which he scored 7 goals for his team.

“Are you joking” – Fans are in shambles as Thiago Alcantara gets picked over Rodri

Fans were extremely disappointed as Rodri and Declan Rice got left out to make way for Thiago. Many even argued over the absence of Heung-min Son from the team who was left out in place of Sadio Mane of Liverpool. Here is twitter’s reaction on the matter.

Even though Liverpool went on to win the FA Cup and the League Cup, Manchester City lifted the all-important Premier League trophy. Hence, Rodri did have a better season and played more games compared to Thiago Alcantara who also had a decent outing with Liverpool.
