Ex-Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was seen in the stands of the French Open match of the Spanish legend, Rafael Nadal, 17 years after honoring Rafael Nadal with his first of the 13 trophies. Rafael Nadal emerged victorious against his Dutch opponent 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, improving his record to 108-3 in his favorite hunting field.

Zidane also mentioned Carlos Alcaraz who has the potential to take the baton in the coming generations. Rafael Nadal won his first Grand Slam victory at Roland Garros in 2005, just a few days after turning 19. During the ceremony, Zinedine Zidane was present to present Rafa with the trophy.

Nadal might also visit Paris for the champions league final as he is a fan of Real Madrid and would also like to meet Zidane who hints at being present in Paris on Saturday.

“It’s always a pleasure to be here and share moments like this in such a relaxed atmosphere and watch great athletes do their thing. Roland Garros is such a legendary place, so whenever we have the chance to come here, we seize it,” said Zinedine Zidane.

“It’s the new generation, it’s great but I’m from the older one. We’ll try and keep pushing Rafa (Nadal). If he can… He’s still here, so it would be great. But, indeed, the new generation with Carlos Alcaraz will eventually take over,” he concluded.
