Jose Mourinho‘s press conferences are no less iconic than the Portuguese manager himself. The same man who coined the ‘I prefer not to speak’ phrase has yet again come forth with a noticeable claim in his most recent press conference. Ahead of AS Roma‘s clash against Serie A giants AC Milan, the Portuguese manager labeled himself as the ‘complete’ professional.
In a press conference leading to the match on Sunday, Mourinho said that Roma’s coach is Jose ‘Harry Potter’ Mourinho. He also promised that his team would bring the fight to Milan and that no one could tell his team when they could and could not fight. He also listed himself as an example of being the ‘perfect’ professional. However, it was not the case as Roma were left to dust by Milan in a 3-1 loss.
Roma are the most incredible fans I have seen. Their coach is Jose ‘Harry Potter’ Mourinho… so he raises expectations. We are fighting a very difficult battle, but nobody will tell us we can’t fight. Against Milan, we will be there. You cannot question my heart for this job. I have no illnesses or bad moods. In my 2 years and 5 months at Roma, only I have never missed a training session.
He also revealed that he has yet to miss a game in over twenty years of his managerial career.
He confidently announced that he is the club while he is at Roma. Mourinho is known for sharing a good relationship with the club supporters.
Mourinho was forced to watch Roma’s defeat from the stands as Milan won 3-1
Jose Mourinho and co. suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Serie A giants AC Milan. The visitors were without their manager Jose Mourinho, as he picked up a red card in the league game before the one on Sunday. His words of vigor and encouragement failed to stir Roma to victory against Milan as the club remained winless in their last 3 games.
The game began with a Milan goal in the tenth minute, as Yacine Adli danced across the Roma backline before finding the bottom right corner. Theo Hernandez then hit the post from a mishit cross before the end of the first half. The second half saw much more action as Milan grabbed their second through Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman headed home from close range to give the home side a clear advantage over their visitors.
Leandro Paredes converted Roma’s chance to get back into the game from the penalty spot. The Argentine blasted his penalty past Mike Maignan in the 69th minute. Subsequently, Theo Hernandez finally grabbed his goal from a sublime shot from the edge of the box. His goal sealed the victory for the hosts, as they remain third in Serie A, while Roma are ninth with 29 points.
