Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario share much more than just a name. The latter was captured greeting Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Mateo Ronaldo, and partner Georgina Rodriguez at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Pictures of the same have gone viral on social media. Fans have reacted to the ‘adorable’ moment shared between a footballing legend and Cristiano Ronaldo’s child.
Several celebrities, including the likes of Irina Shayk, Sergio Aguero & Kevin De Bruyne attended the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Film stars were also present at the event where Max Verstappen finished 1st. Netizens were enraptured by the presence of both Irina Shayk and Georgina Rodriguez at the event. However, attention has shifted towards the meeting between Mateo and Ronaldo Nazario.
The Brazilian legend also met with Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who is currently nursing an injury sustained earlier this season.
The duo posed for pictures as well. However, Netizens have had their hearts stolen at the meeting between ‘little Cristiano’ and R9.

Ever since pictures of the incident have gone viral, comments have been pouring in praising the Brazilian for his ‘humility’. A certain set of fans took the occasion to draw comparisons between Cristiano Ronaldo and R9, while others appreciated the ‘heartwarming’ gesture. One of the top comments had a fan asking Ronaldo to ‘bestow’ his powers on the young child.
A fan jokingly jotted down Mateo’s inner monologue. He’d be thinking my dad’s better, read a hilarious comment. Fans were quick to start a debate in the comments as well. A fan boldly commented that Ronaldo’s legs were better than R9’s entire career. A fan took a brutal dig at the Brazil legend, commenting that Ronaldo’s kid isn’t fatphobic, pointing to how R9 gained weight post-retirement.
Others used the opportunity to troll Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming that the Brazilian was the ‘real’ Ronaldo and not the Portuguese. Several other pictures, of the 6-year-old with his mother, have surfaced on Twitter. The pictures show Mateo trackside, while also posing for pictures in a luxury car. Mateo has a twin sister, Eva, and was born in June 2017. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are parents to five beautiful children, the youngest being born in 2021.
