Four-time golf champion from Northern Ireland, Rory McIlroy, has dropped major plans that could excite Manchester United plans. His intentions with the club seem to have taken a serious interest from his days as a meager fan.

The world number one recently made headlines with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce for investing almost €200m in the Alpine Formula One team. The 34-year-old expressed his desire to expand his sporting portfolio while talking to Sky Sports as he dropped hints about buying stakes in Manchester Club.

I would love to be able to own a tiny percentage of the club I grew up cheering on as a boy.

He also mentioned other athletes like Tom Brady investing in Birmingham City. Golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas with the 49ers Group, own a bit of Leeds United. McIlroy was asked to join, but as a Manchester United fan, he has respectfully declined.

Manchester United’s thrilling victory against Sheffield United

Manchester United clinched a hard-fought victory over Sheffield United, but their performance was lackluster, considering the opponent’s weak status in the Premier League. Scott McTominay‘s opening goal was followed by a penalty giveaway, leading to an equalizer by Oliver McBurnie. It made it an unexpected turn of events on the day the club remembered Sir Bobby Charlton.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana made vital saves, while Diogo Dalot’s remarkable late goal secured the win. Despite the underwhelming performance, it marked United’s first consecutive league win.

Ten Hag’s tactical shifts, with Eriksen and Garnacho, improved the situation, but the overall performance fell short. United remains inconsistent, oscillating between mediocrity and brilliance in their quest to rise in the Premier League standings.
