Roy Keane has stern words for fans who believe Man United can challenge for the Premier League. The former Manchester United Captain was appalled by the team’s performance on Saturday against Tottenham Hotspurs. Roy has never held his words back when criticizing the squad’s performance, this time was no different.

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Tottenham with goals coming from Pape Matar Sarr and an own-goal by Lisandro Martinez. After wasting chance after chance in the first half, United were extremely poor in the latter half of the game. Leaving many fans disgruntled by the terrible performance in the second half. Roy Keane was quick to state how poorly the club performed. Deeming the club the next ‘Tottenham Hotspurs’ and also claiming that fans who believe that United can challenge for the title are living in ‘cuckoo land’.

Manchester United won their first game 1-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the game was entirely controlled by the men in orange as United were run ragged by Gary O’Neil‘s men. A goal in the 76th minute by Raphael Varane papered over the cracks, sealing their win. United were fortunate to come out of the game with a result. Many fans believed a performance like this would be punished against a better team. On Saturday 19th August, their belief came true.

Manchester faces Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, and Brighton in their next three games. United fans will be hoping for a better showing from their team as the team could end up with 0 points out of a possible 9.

Manchester United started their Premier League campaign with a win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. The result however did not tell the full story. Fans will know that Manchester United were completely outplayed by Wolves. Matheus Cunha was running the show at Old Trafford, carving their midfield open with his quick pace. His finishing however let him down

A controversial penalty not given also aided United in their win. Fans hope that performance was just a one-off and isn’t the actual state of football at the club. With the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool, and Chelsea all strengthening their squad adding to that, also playing wonderful football, United will not be able to keep up with performances like that against Wolves.

Manchester United fans could be in for a hard season if their team does not perform up to the mark. With a squad as talented as theirs, expectations are there. With their performances, expectations are not met.
