Bayern Munich player Leroy Sane is reportedly hit by teammate Sadio Mane in the face after their 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday. This incident took place in the dressing room after the game. Sky Sports reported that the German winger was seen bleeding and with a swell in the face. Both the players had to be separated by other teammates.
The Senegalese player reportedly had an altercation with the former Manchester City player on the pitch itself. The former Liverpool player complained about the poor behaviour of the former which happened during the match. The Bundesliga Giants lost 3-0 against their Premier League opponents
The Senegalese player was substituted by Thomas Tuchel in the 69th minute. He came in place of Jamal Musiala. Minutes after the substitution both teammates were seen involved in a heated altercation. Mane was seen frustrated with the German’s play.
The German winger reportedly was furious due to the mistimed run of the Senegalese player. It was in the dressing after the match when the players got involved again in a verbal spat. The Bavarian front line looked in complete disarray through the game and Sane was the only attacking outlet who made Ederson work. However, the former City prospect’s shots were tame enough to not cause much trouble.
What punishments would Sadio Mane face?
The Bundesliga Giants are having a lot of drama in their team this season. From sacking Nagelsmann in the middle of the season to getting tactics leaked in social media. The bizarre conditions of the team increased after their blow in the match against Manchester City. What increased greater trouble is the teammates getting involved in tussles with each other.
Leroy Sane was seen coming out of the dressing room bleeding. This was the outcome of the action by his teammate. Investigations would probably now take place before. If Sadio Mane is found guilty the club may take action against the player.
The player may face several match bans or a hefty fine as per the rules and regulations of the FA. The player may also be subjected to the provisions of the German Criminal Code for a minimum period of 6 months as per Sections 223 and 224. During his tenure in Liverpool, the player was involved in Eye poking incident.
No formal complaint has been lodged against the Senegalese forward till now. If things are resolved he may play in the upcoming match against Hoffenheim. Bayern Munich will again face Manchester City in Allianz Arena on April 20, 2023.
