Ex-Liverpool forward Sadio Mane responded to online criticism after his private wedding to long-term partner Aisha Tamba in Dakar, Senegal. Some users criticized the Al-Nassr player for marrying the Senegalese lady, who is 13 years younger to him.
31-year-old Senegalese international Sadio Mane married 18-year-old Aisha Tamba at a ceremony on Sunday, January 7 in Keur Massar in the Senegalese capital of Dakar. Moreover, they reportedly had a relationship for two years, beginning when Aisha was 16. The private ceremony, attended by close friends, family, and teammates, coincided with Senegal’s upcoming match against Gambia in the Africa Cup of Nations. Photos from the event prompted reactions from internet users.
The 31-year-old wed Tamba amid controversy regarding her reported age, initially stated as 18 but questioned by some online sources claiming she is 26. The winger has been subjected to a lot of criticism on social media platforms, with some users criticizing the player for marrying a ‘child’.
Despite the criticism, Mane seemed elated with the numerous well-wishes he received. He expressed his happiness regarding the president and others congratulating him after tying the knot, anticipating their support for his leadership in the upcoming AFCON.
