India will face Lebanon in the semi-final fixture of the South Asian football federation championship(SAFF) 2023 on Saturday. It will be hosted by Sri Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru and the estimated kick-off time for the match is kept at 7:30 pm IST.
India recently returned to the Top 100 ranked teams in the world and would be hoping that momentum stays for the game. The last game they played was against Kuwait which ended in a 1-1 draw. Lebanon has now ranked two spots below India in the 102nd spot.
However, they have won all their games in the tournament and certainly can cause problems for the Sunil Chettri-led side. It is their first-ever appearance in the competition as they were brought in along with Kuwait to make the tournament more competitive. Head-to-head Lebanon has the edge of 3-2 in the seven games they have played. However, India has won the last two outings.

They then faced Nepal and defeated them 2-0 with not many difficulties faced. In their recent game, they faced Kuwait whom they drew 1-1 due to an unfortunate late own goal by Anwar Ali. They finished second behind Kuwait in Group A making it to the semi-finals.
Lebanon commenced the tournament dispatching Bangladesh 2-0 then went on to beat Bhutan 4-1. In their most recent game, they defeated the Maldives 1-0 and secured a semi-final qualification. They topped group B with Bangladesh finishing second. However, their last encounter with India was in the intercontinental cup final which ended in a 2-0 defeat for them.
