Scotland fans are thrilled about securing their spot in UEFA Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany next year. Following Norway’s loss to Spain in the Euro qualifier, where Gavi scored in the 49th minute, Scotland’s place in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 was confirmed.

In Lille, where Scottish fans were already present for their upcoming game against France, TV reporters interviewed elated fans. One fan joyfully exclaimed, “It’s priceless, we’re absolutely thrilled,” while another fan confidently stated, “I believe we can win it,” when asked about Scotland’s potential in the tournament.

Although Scotland’s spot was guaranteed thanks to another match result, the UK team’s performance has been impressive, matching points with the reigning champions, Spain. They only lost points once during the qualifiers.

Scotland will not want to repeat their 2020 Euro performance

Held in 2021 due to the pandemic, the Euro 2020 marked Scotland’s first appearance in the tournament since 1996. Similar to the celebrations now, fans were delighted to finally watch their team play against the elite nations of Europe. However, their campaign ended quite early than the fans expected.

Scotland lost their first game of the tournament against Czechia, thanks to a brace by Patrik Schick. Then a draw against eventual finalist and long-time rivals, England gave fans some hope as a win in the next game would secure them a spot in the Round of 16.

However, it all came to nothing as Croatia dominated the Scottish players running out 3-1 winners, not only eliminating the country from the tournament but also ensuring they finished dead last in the group. Now, making their fourth appearance, the nation from the UK will look to improve on their poor campaigns of the past.
