Scottish brand ‘BrewDog’ who launched the official Qatar FIFA World Cup anti-sponsorship campaign is called out for hypocrisy

The world is now governed by perspectives, and campaigns have constantly grown in terms of giving out a perspective to the people. The Scottish brewery brand and pub chain- BrewDog has officially launched an anti-sponsorship against the FIFA World Cup 2022, in Qatar. The taglines say all about the frustration of the brand as per reports.
The Qatar World Cup 2022 has been surrounded by several controversies including the allowance of hosting the event. The brand’s being called out for hypocrisy as they themselves are inviting everyone to watch the games live in their pubs where they’re screening the event. However, the brand has reasons to defend itself.
Taglines used by BrewDog such as, “Eat, Sleep, Bribe Football” and “Proud anti-sponsor of the World F*Cup” the brand has rigorously launched the campaign taking it all out against the World Cup that was awarded to Qatar in 2011. The brand even mentioned the profits earned by them from the screening shall go towards ‘Fighting Human Rights Abuse’.
Even steaming platforms like Netflix are releasing documentaries highlighting the bad practices that take place inside the organization that has been hidden from the world and a much saintly image has been portrayed, Qatar bribed its way into the world cup- was one of the most prominent notions running at the time.

The corruption surrounding FIFA
The FIFA organization for World football is not as Saint as it looks, there are some dangerous and extremely criminal minds behind it, playing that bigger games. In the last decade or so, the body has been subjected to huge risk, following a 201 million dollar seizing of their forfeited funds.
Many officials were criminally charged and as directed by the United States DOJ (Department of Justice) those were prosecuted in front of the court and were found guilty, and later were imprisoned. The biggest of the names in the business are still out there ruling, but it’s the ‘crashing down’ that has already begun.
