The official unveiling date for Lionel Messi as a player for Inter Miami FC has been confirmed. The team is currently at the bottom of the table in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. They issued a statement disclosing that a huge presentation event is set to take place on July 16. The statement read, “Inter Miami CF has announced a significant presentation event on Sunday, July 16 at 6 p.m. ET at DRV PNK Stadium. Fans can expect an evening filled with entertainment, speeches on the pitch, and more!”

The statement further indicated that the event would feature entertainment, hinting at the presence of various artists. According to journalist Franco Panizo, Miami is making efforts to secure many popular artists for Messi’s official presentation. This includes Bad Bunny, Shakira, and Maluma.

Shakira seems the likeliest to attend as she is currently a resident of Miami after her breakup with Gerard Pique. She also knows Messi’s family since her time in Barcelona. Apart from welcoming Lionel Messi, the club intends to introduce Sergio Busquets, another Barcelona legend who played alongside Messi for several seasons.

It is bound to be a star-studded affair, as the Argentine is the most popular player to ever step foot in the USA since Pele when he joined the New York Cosmos in 1975. The Argentine maestro is set to bring more viewers to the league and popularize the sport in the country.

Inter Miami has huge transfer plans for the ongoing MLS season. They do not plan to stop after Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets acquisitions. The David Beckham-owned team is looking to bring in many big names to the team. Few of these have already played with Messi before.

Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta are also being targeted. Both of them left their previous clubs recently and have been sent offers by Miami. Sergio Ramos, who was the Argentine’s teammate at PSG was also linked to the club.

Inter Miami has also made Eden Hazard the next primary target for the club to pursue. The Belgian left Real Madrid after enduring a tough spell at the club. However, his glorious Chelsea spell hasn’t been forgotten which is why the MLS club wants him. The team needs to add even more reinforcements as the club is languishing at the bottom of the table and would need some great results to have any chance to get into the playoffs.
