It’s been over a month since Gerard Pique and Shakira got separated after reports came out claiming that the Barcelona star had been cheating on his partner.

However, the drama in their lives is far from over as they compete for the custody of their two children, Sasha and Milan. On one hand, Pique wants his boys to stay in Spain while the Columbian singer wants to take them with her to Miami where she plans on moving permanently.

Shakira’s lawyers warn to use ‘Media pressure’ to ensure Pique doesn’t get full custody of the children

While both parties have strong points on why they should get custody of their kids, no one is ready to negotiate. Gerard Pique claims that moving to a whole new country would affect the mental health of the boys who’ve spent their entire lives in Barcelona.

Shakira on the other hand feels that as the mother of two young boys, they should live with their mom and move to Miami. However, Shakira has one final move in her bank to win the custody battle.

As reported by Informalia, “The last thing her lawyers have recommended to argue is ‘the media pressure that the little ones and herself are suffering since the separation was made public and it was learned that the soccer player had another illusion and that he had had as many,'” Informalia stressed.

Shakira could also claim that the media pressure doesn’t allow her or her children to roam freely in Catalonia where the Barcelona defender is in the limelight and not always for something good.

Reports have suggested that Shakira was even ready to pay off the player to ensure that she and her boys can move away from Barcelona as soon as possible so that they start their new lives in the United States.
