The Colombian singer has removed a tree which holds sentimental value to her from her property in Barcelona. Shakira has moved to Miami with her two children, Milan and Sasha following her split up with her ex-partner, Gerard Pique.

According to El Economista, the singer had planted the tree as a sapling herself in Lebanon, the birthplace of her grandmother. The seedling was planted around five years ago by the artist and her children in Lebanon. The tree had been uprooted by the singer in November of last year, a little while before the couple’s separation became public.

The tree was reportedly transferred to Barcelona and planted in the family’s garden. The Colombian singer ordered the tree to be dug up, but not to take it with her to the other side of the world, because it was not in a good condition.

According to recent reports, Shakira and Gerard Pique are looking to administer the sale of their property in Barcelona. Following the couple’s separation, Shakira moved to Miami with her children and Pique moved to a penthouse in the city.

There have been rumours that the Spaniard, along with his new girlfriend would move into the mansion. However, Pique has ruled that out for the moment, since he is very comfortable in his ‘bachelor’ penthouse in Barcelona. Images of what looks like possible buyers or tenants have emerged in their property. This backs up claims of the ex-couple wishing to sell off the property.

The mansion is in the name of Pique’s father but was purchased by the couple together. The property is rumoured to be worth over 14 million euros. If the place is sold, it is likely that Shakira and Pique would split the profit between themselves amicably.
