Colombian singer Shakira is about to release her new song ‘Copa Vacia,’ on June 29 with Manuel Turizo. The song could be aimed again at her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique, with whom she split in June 2022.
The reason was due to the former FC Barcelona defender cheating on her with his now girlfriend, Clara Chia Martin. The ‘Queen of Latin Pop’ released her first song seemingly addressing him in October 2022 with Puerto Rican star Ozana.
She sang, “You left me because of your narcissism / You forgot what we were one day.” In the music video, the singer is shedding tears inside a supermarket before getting shot by a past romantic partner. Afterward, she wanders around while visibly having a significant opening in her chest, holding her own heart.
However, her main diss track on her ex-boyfriend was released on January 11 earlier this year. It was a single with Argentinian producer Bizarrap which was called “BZRP Music Session #53”. The singer sings about being replaced with someone younger by her partner.
She sang, “I’m worth two 22-year-olds / You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded in a Rolex for a Casio.” This song became a huge hit all over the world with many expressing support to the Latin Singer.
Shakira’s new release can be her yet another diss track aimed at Gerard Pique
Now, it looks like the singer is set to release another single aimed at the King’s League owner along with Manuel Turizo. The title of the song ‘Copa Vacia’ translates to the empty cup which could allude to her previous relationship.
Some of the lyrics of the song have been released, “You are always busy with so much business/ You would do my love a little leisure/ relax here on the sofa and give me your attention.” “You don’t have to be a poet to sweeten my ear/ let go of the phone, use your hand with me/ I know you are good, but I am better.“
Another lyric from the song says, “I’ve been thirsty for you for a while now, I don’t know why, I’ve been wanting more and wanting to drink from an empty cup.” The song is all set to release on the 29th of June. It could be another chart-topping hit for the singer.
