Shakira throws Shade at ex Gerard Pique in Latin Grammys speech, thanks fans for support during ‘difficult moments’

Colombian musical artist, Shakira did not forget about her ex-partner, Gerard Pique as the singer made several digs towards the former Barcelona star in the recent Latin Grammy Awards. Nominated for seven different categories, Shakira was pictured with three awards on the red carpet and also won ‘Song of the Year’. 

Already having taken several digs at Gerard Pique in the past – which includes a ‘diss track’ on the player as well as adding the ‘nanny’ who exposed Gerard Pique’s cheating to her in her music video – Shakira could not help herself but take another dig at the father of her children. For one of the categories, Shakira was handed the award by Pique’s former Spanish teammate and rival at club level, Sergio Ramos.

When making her speech she referred the difficult times she went through with her ex Pique recently. The Colombian singer, acknowledging the support of the Spanish public, said: 

You have been there accompanying me through the good and the bad, in difficult moments.

Shakira’s recent comments were interpreted by many as subtle jabs at her ex-partner, who is linked to her challenging times. Besides Gerard Pique, she also seemed to reference his friends, who nicknamed her ‘The Boss’ due to her perceived ‘bad attitude.’ This led her to release songs with the same title, and her fans enthusiastically supported her, echoing those famous words her ex-partner acknowledged: 

You traded a Rolex for a Casio.

The awards she received were special to her. It showed as Shakira smiled on stage with her children, Sasha and Milan cheering her on from the audience.

Shakira showcased her incredible wardrobe on the night

Known for her ‘seductive’ choice of clothing, Shakira dazzled the crowd with not only her performances but also her choice of clothing. Wearing four different outfits on the night, Shakira had a special task for each one.

She entered the venue in a stunning black and gold corset, later changing into a gold Dolce & Gabbana dress for the red carpet. Singing her song “Acróstico,” dedicated to her kids, she then went for a bolder look during her performance of ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ in a striking bodysuit. Finally, wrapping up the night, Shakira wore a stylish green dress that accentuated her slender figure.

She was not the only one who came prepared as her children also dressed up on the night wearing matching cream satin jackets and shorts.
