Shakira and Gerard Pique broke up after 11 years of dating in June 2022. The former FC Barcelona defender was caught being unfaithful to her along with his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti. Since then, both of them have been at loggerheads with each other and neither of them leaves an opportunity to tarnish the other’s reputation.
Now, the mayhem occurring after the breakup is taking its toll on their children Milan and Sasha. They currently reside in Miami with their mother but visit their father in Barcelona.
However, their relationship with him is not very positive, possibly influenced by the way he handled things with their mother and his involvement with Clara Chía. According to a theory, the children may refer to her as ‘dad’s employee,’ possibly to avoid acknowledging her as their father’s girlfriend.
In another surprising turn of events, Shakira’s collaboration with Bizzarap which contained shots at Gerard Pique, was said to be with the support of her son, Milan. He encouraged his mother to write the song, which caused an even bigger rift between his parents.
This might be a coping mechanism for the children as recent months have been tough for them. They were part of a household for more than a decade which was suddenly changed due to an event not in their control. Shakira has insisted that Clara Chia should not be introduced to them for now. According to her, this will only complicate things more for them.

Shakira returns to Barcelona to resolve tax evasion issues
Shakira is en route to Barcelona to address her legal issues. She faces accusations of tax evasion in Spain and plans to meet with her lawyers to discuss the case. Accompanied by her brother, Tonino, Shakira arrived in Spain via a private jet at Barcelona’s El Prat airport. The two then proceeded to their former residence in Esplugues de Llobregat, where she once lived with Gerard Pique.
The tax evasion allegations pertain to the years 2012-2014, during which Spanish tax authorities claim Shakira failed to pay taxes amounting to 14.5 million while residing with Pique. Shakira argues that she was not liable for Spanish taxation during that period, as she considered herself a resident of the Bahamas.
Realizing the oversight, Shakira already paid the 14.5 million owed to the authorities. Despite this, the case is proceeding to trial. Seeking legal representation, she enlisted the services of lawyer Pau Molins and has returned to Barcelona to confer with him about the next steps in her defense.
