Manchester United lifted their first trophy after six years, as they defeated Newcastle United in a 2-0 victory. Legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson waited for their current manager Erik Ten Hag to congratulate the Dutch on lifting The Red Devil’s first trophy since 2017. Ten Hag and Sir Alex Ferguson embraced in the tunnel, where Sir Ferguson had been waiting for him.
Nobody was happier than Sir Alex Ferguson after United’s much-awaited trophy, Erik Ten Hag confirmed. ‘‘He [Sir Alex] was there after the match. He is a happy man tonight,” said Ten Hag. Sir Alex is particularly impressed by Erik Ten Hag’s abilities and believes that the Dutch has what it takes to restore the Red Devil’s winning habits. The former United manager even had dinner with Ten Hag last week in Manchester.
Manchester United’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson won 38 trophies during his reign as the United coach, including 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two UEFA Champions League trophies. Erik Ten Hag had huge words for Sir Alex Ferguson, as he praised the legendary manager during a press conference. “I just love United. When I see already our shirts, when I see the bond with the fans, when I see Old Trafford, when I see the legacy Sir Alex left, so many players, big players were developed in the United teams, it makes a big impression and we want to do the same.“

Harry Maguire ignored Manchester United owner Avram Glazer after Carabao Cup victory

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire led the Red Devils to the Carabao Cup victory against Newcastle United on Sunday. He led the United team up the steps to collect the trophy as the captain in Wembley Stadium. During the celebrations, the English defender shared a handshake and an embrace with Manchester United’s CEO Richard Arnold. Maguire, however, walked past Avram Glazer, the owner of Manchester United, who was standing right next to Arnold.
The Red Devils’ fans also expressed their interest in the departure of Glazer, as they continued to chant against the controversial Glazer ownership. Some fans were also seen holding a “Glazers Out,” banner few rows below Avram Glazer at the Wembley.
Before the match, several groups of supporters were confiscated of their banners protesting against the Glazer ownership by the Wembley staff. Meanwhile Manchester United play Liverpool in their upcoming Premier League match on March 5.
