It was announced on Christmas Eve that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has acquired a 25 percent ownership of Manchester United. The Red Devils find themselves in desperate need of an ‘overhaul’ and the responsibility falls on its new owner. Ratcliffe and INEOS will be tasked with a significant amount of rearrangements with a stadium ‘renovation’ on the cards. As per rumors, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been advised to ‘demolish’ and rebuild a new Old Trafford!

Following his takeover of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced that he aims to bring the club back to where it belongs. This being ‘the very top of European football’, it will have to make significant changes to do so. From sporting and commercial adjustments, a $300 million injunction will see significant changes in the club. Moreover, Ratcliffe has also announced that there will be 2 INEOS seats on the United board.
As for Old Trafford, the historic arena has not been renovated in the last 17 years. An architectural firm named Populous has been tasked with the proposed project. They have presented three different options to Ratcliffe as reported by The Sun, in which the first proposes a slight makeover.
The second project will see an expansion of the south stand followed by a redevelopment of the rest of the ground. The third, and ‘best’ course of action would be to bring down the existing stadium and build a new and modern stadium as its replacement.
Manchester United’s comeback win – Erik ten Hag reveals what inspired turnaround at Old Trafford
Manchester United made a spectacular comeback win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. The first game after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s take-over of the club was headed in the direction of defeat, but was averted thanks to a late comeback win. However, it was nit without some interference by head coach Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman was under some serious pressure after 4 winless games, but was able to ignite a turnaround at half-time.

Following the game, the manager revealed his half-time ‘pep talk’. As the players found themselves trailing 2-0 at home, Ten Hag reminded them that Aston Villa scored only through set plays. He said that they lost focus and urged them to keep trying. He directed his players to add more pressure to their game and do more than what they did in the first half.
If we play at our very best, we can defeat anyone. You have to believe that, and it doesn't matter even if you are two goals down.
An elated Ten Hag praised his players for showing resilience and character. After the defeat against West Ham United on Saturday, United’s 3-2 win breathed a sigh of relief into the side. The club is currently 6th in the Premier League.
