“Something died inside of me” – Robert Lewandowski launches a new attack on Bayern Munich as he desperately looks for an exit
Robert Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich were once a tale made for each other. However, over the last few months, the relationship between the player and the club has deteriorated to a point where Robert Lewandowski has on multiple occasions publically admitted that wishes to leave the German giants.
Robert Lewandowski wants a move to Barcelona who is also willing to sign the 33-year-old with open arms. They have a 3 year proposal ready but come to terms with Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga winners have tried everything to keep Lewandowski at the Allianz but it seems they will have to let the Polish striker go.
“This is a reconnaissance of the area” – Robert Lewandowski on the situation with Bayern
Speaking to Sport Onet, Robert Lewandowski said, “Something has died in me. I want to leave Bayern to seek new emotions in my life. They didn’t want to listen to me until the end. Something inside me went out. And it is impossible to get over it. Even if you want to be professional, you can’t make up for it.”
“If you have been in the club for so many years, you were always ready, you were available, despite the injuries and pain, you gave your best. It will be best to find a good solution for both sides and not look for a wrong decision. It does not make sense. Not after this time.
I would understand if I had been playing here for 2-4 years, but after such a successful path and readiness and support on my part, loyalty and respect are probably more important than business,” added Lewandowski.
Speaking about Bayern forcing him to stay he said, “What for? What kind of player will want to come to Bayern knowing that something like this could happen to him? Where are the loyalty and respect then? I have always been ready. I have spent eight beautiful years here, I have met so many wonderful people, and I would like it to stay that way.”
