“Such a brilliant footballer”- Christian Eriksen can aid Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United, feels Kevin Campbell

Kevin Campbell, a former Arsenal striker, thinks Bruno Fernandes, a Manchester United offensive midfielder, will gain from Christian Eriksen’s arrival this summer.

The Athletic reports that the Danish international has reached a personal agreement with the Red Devils and will join on a free transfer.

Many supporters have expressed their skepticism over Erik ten Hag’s ability to start with two midfielders who have the same profile. Campbell, though, thinks that Fernandes and Eriksen will play together in the Dutchman’s revamped Manchester United, and that the latter’s addition would benefit the Portuguese.

Before the midfield player joins the team formally, paperwork and medical exams must be completed. Eriksen appears to have been defeated by Man United over Brentford, Newcastle, and Everton.

Campbell responded in the affirmative when asked by Football Insider if the former Tottenham player might join Fernandes in the starting lineup.

This is what Kevin Campbell had to say about Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen:

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United

“Eriksen is such an intelligent footballer and such a good footballer he can play in multiple positions. He could play for any team in the league.”

“Of course, he has history with Ten Hag which I’m sure was a factor. Ten Hag helped him when he was making his recovery. He has trained at Ajax. There is obviously a connection there.”

“This move is brilliant for both Eriksen and United in my opinion. Can he play with Fernandes? I think he can.”

“Fernandes is a top player but he needs help. When it was all on his shoulders last season he did not hit the heights. It was not the same Fernandes. He needs more help. Eriksen can provide that.”

The upcoming Manchester United player has undoubtedly made progress since having a terrifying heart attack at the Euros the previous year. He joined Brentford in the second part of the 2021–22 season, and his one goal and four assists helped the team finish 13th.
