“The audacity of this clown,” Karim Benzema slams Didier Deschamps for French World Cup Squad exit claims
Benzema and Deschamps were involved in controversy after both have different claims about the striker's participation in the World Cup
Karim Benzema recently hit back at France coach Didier Deschamps amid talks about the striker not being able to participate in the FIFA World Cup owing to a thigh injury. Both of them have given contradictory opinions about the Madrid striker playing in the World Cup. The French manager quoted that it was the player’s decision to withdraw from the squad despite recovering from injury while Benzema said the opposite.
Karim Benzema on Instagram after Deschamps said it was the striker’s choice to leave the Qatar World Cup camp…“The audacity of this ?! Holy Didier. Goodnight.” This clearly indicates that the player contradicts the fact and his agent alleged the player was sent home early. Including a clown emoji indicated the growing tensions between them.
The French superstar was ruled out due to injury right before the World Cup started and was thought not to play in the tournament. However, the player recovered faster than usual and was expected to play for Les Blues in the following matches but Deschamps ruled him out, according to reports. The player has currently retired from international football.
It came as a surprise considering he won the 2022 Ballon d’Or and led Madrid to La Liga and Champions League triumph scoring 44 goals in all competitions. Including him in the squad might have changed the fortunes of the team who lost in the final against Argentina.
Who could replace Karim Benzema in Real Madrid in the upcoming seasons?
Benzema has proved himself to be one of the best strikers of his generation and is one of the most decorated players after winning everything with the Los Blancos. Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Benzema has replaced him quite well and is one of the important players in Madrid. However, the Champions League winner is not getting any younger and the club will soon need to replace him. He has had deteriorating performances owing to injuries.
Kylian Mbappe, Goncalo Ramos, and Richarlison are the shortlisted candidates to replace the French striker. Mbappe, his patriot has established himself as one of the deadliest strikers and is having an impressive campaign after scoring 30 goals and providing 3 assists in 33 matches in all competitions. He was close to joining them until a last-minute renewal with PSG much to the annoyance of the club. But there is no denying of his quality and it won’t come as a surprise if he is linked to the club again.
Goncalo Ramos is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and is currently having a stellar season in the Portuguese division where his club is on top and he is the top scorer in the competition. He even benched their national superstar owing to his performances where he scored a hattrick against Switzerland. Such a player would guarantee goals and is young enough to sustain at least another decade for the club.
Richarlison is not currently at his best since joining Tottenham. He currently has just 2 goals to his name in 24 games which are horrendous considering the Brazilian’s quality and performances in the World Cup. A move seems imminent after his recent fallout with Conte and joining Madrid may help him revive his career.
