Many Twitter users linked the incident to Pique’s recent break-up with Shakira, citing the crowd’s reaction to him during the game. The couple announced their split earlier this summer, with reports claiming that the Barcelona center-back had cheated on the Colombian singer. During the friendly between the two LaLiga giants, some fans were heard chanting “Shakira, Shakira,” and fans were quick to respond on Twitter:
