“They have brought signings to Xavi to really win, not to make excuses”- Spanish Journalist wants Xavi to be sacked if Barcelona fails to win any silverware in 2022-23 season

Spanish Journalist Josep Pedrerol returned to El Chiringuito and on his return, he wanted to talk about Barcelona, a team that has entered the risky plan of cashing over their economic levers in exchange for getting signings that allow them to aspire to all the titles they are fighting for.
But the debut of the Catalan club in the 2022-2023 season of LaLiga left a bittersweet taste with the goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano since it showed a team that is placed as a favorite in the season and that not winning the league competition or the Champions League will be a failure, for everything that is at stake.
Pedrerol pointed out that activating the levers can be risky since it is betting the future on the immediate present, so everything has to go well for Joan Laporta’s board since they have made many moves to be champions. Even if Xavi fails in the attempt, the journalist sees no point in him continuing to lead the team, since he has all the necessary resources to fight.
“The heritage is true that it is important, if you sell it, being left without it is important. But Barca cannot spend two years playing with the quarry. But with these you are going to win… if you don’t win, Xavi has to be kicked out. They have brought signings to Xavi to really win, not to make excuses.”, said Josep Pedrerol, making it clear that this squad, on paper, has everything to win.
The journalist also hit out at Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta for focusing on short-term gains rather than long-term future
“Laporta is more news than any footballer in the world. He has achieved what seemed impossible: to excite Barcelona fans again. Bravo for him. He has done it with a crowbar. He already has six signings with Lewandowski at the helm and Xavi wants three more,” continued Pedrerol in this editorial.
The journalist closed the section by recalling the legitimacy that the culer club has to execute this formula to compete and win the titles that are at stake in this football season- “Many laugh at the levers. They criticize that so many millions are spent. From whom Is it the money? Of the Barça partners. And they have said yes to the levers”.
