Cristiano Ronaldo blasts Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo made a few more allegations against Manchester United in a fresh segment from his explosive interview with Piers Morgan that was published on Monday. In possibly his most appalling remarks yet, Ronaldo claimed that Red Devils authorities ‘didn’t believe something was wrong when he turned up late for pre-season and blamed that on his baby daughter’s sickness.

In it, the legendary attacker charged senior authorities with not trusting him when he informed them his daughter Bella was suffering from medical issues over the summer. “I spoke with the director and the president of Man Utd and they kind of didn’t believe that something was going wrong, which made me feel bad,” Ronaldo said on the Piers Morgan show.

“ We had one week in the hospital because Bella had a big problem and I didn’t go to the pre-season because of that. I didn’t want to leave my family to do the pre-season because I didn’t think it was fair to leave my family for a pre-season. This is why I didn’t go.”

Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez were grieving earlier this year after their baby son died, but the presence of their newborn daughter offered them “hope and some happiness.”

What happened between Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United’s pre-season?

Ronaldo skipped preseason training at Carrington on July 4 along with the other international players for personal reasons, an excuse that United claimed to have accepted. Ronaldo’s desire to leave Old Trafford had come to light just a few days prior, on July 2.

Three days until they were scheduled to leave for Thailand and Australia on July 5, United was unsure if he’ll be traveling with the group. The club later announced on July 7 that Ronaldo will not be traveling with Ten Hag and his team and that he had been given extra time off to attend to a family matter.

The Portuguese player prioritized being with his family during the pre-season. Ronaldo has since explained that Bella was being treated for bronchitis in the hospital.
