The Copa Del Rey semi-finals draw was held on Monday and fascinatingly, Barcelona will face Real Madrid again. The first leg will be held in Madrid’s home ground Santiago Bernabeu, while Osasuna will face Athletic Club. However, the highlight of the semi-finals will surely be the el Clásico. The first leg of the semi-finals will take place on February 28, March 1 or March 2. The second leg will be later in April as Real Madrid have matches in the Club World Cup.

Xavi’s side have already faced Real Madrid twice this season, as each team won 3-1 once, respectively. Barcelona won the recent el Clásico in the Super Cup. The semi-finals draw against Real Madrid means that the much-coveted el Clásico will be played 5 times this season. Real Madrid faced Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey back in 2019, where Barcelona were triumphant over the Galacticos.

While Real Madrid’s last victory in the Copa Del Rey came way back in 2014, as they defeated Barcelona in a famous 2-1 victory. Barcelona will be looking to defeat Madrid to head into the Copa Del Rey final. Barcelona crashed out of last year’s Copa Del Rey after losing out to Athletic Club in the Round of 16.
