“This is my place”- Jurgen Klopp extends his contract with Liverpool till 2026

Liverpool will continue to play under their boss Jurgen Klopp till 2026 as he extended his contract with the Merseyside club on Thursday for two more years. Klopp showed his love for the club and the fans and feels happy where he is. His contract was made till 2024 along with his two assistants, Pepijn Linjders and Peter Krawietz, which is now made till 2026.

“There are so many words I could use to describe how I am feeling about this news… delighted, humbled, blessed, privileged, and excited would be a start. This is my place,” Klopp after signing the new contract.

Jurgen Klopp has been the most successful coach for Liverpool since he took over the charge in 2015. He led them to their maiden Premier League title in the history of the club in 2020. He has even led the Reds to two consecutive Champions League finals- winning one of those in 2019. 

Klopp enjoyed a UEFA Super Cup, a Club World Cup, and a Carabao Cup during his years at the Merseyside. He is delighted with the news of his contract extension which he shares in his interview and he is extremely humbled and privileged.

Liverpool looks firm favorites to win the quadruple this season under Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool is among the top contenders in various competitions this season as they eye not one, not two, but three titles. They have reached the FA Cup finals, took a healthy 2-goal lead in the Champions League 2020-21 semifinal first leg, and also sit at the second spot in the Premier League, with just one point behind Manchester City.

Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, Liverpool will next face Newcastle United in the Premier League 2021-22 on Friday.
