Thomas Müller‘s antics do not end on the pitch. The German midfielder is a fan favorite, not just for his performances on the pitch, but also for his humor and quirky actions off the field. His most recent video was posted by Bayern Munich teammate Leon Goretzka. In a hilarious video shared by the latter on Instagram, fans were looked at Müller’s iPhone.

One would assume that footballers are well-paid and earn more than enough to own top-notch phones and gadgets. Earning over £280K per week, the German could easily afford any mobile he fancies. However, a viral video shows the player’s phone in a ‘horrible’ state. To name it ‘damaged’ would be an understatement, as cracked edges, a shattered screen, and an exposed case.

Fans on social media also shared their disbelief as Goretzka mocked his teammate. The #25 is seen commenting on the same, saying that “it still works” despite the horrific state it was in. Moreover, he joked about the additional ‘feature’ on his phone. Müller said that the battery gets warm in his hand, thereby keeping him warm. He admitted that it was indeed time for a new phone.

Bayern Munich set to undergo ‘massive’ team overhaul

German giants Bayern Munich have undergone several important changes under Thomas Tuchel. The club has brought in new players such as Harry Kane, Kim Min-jae and Konrad Laimer. Even though the club cruised to the top of Group A in the Champions League, the general consensus is that the team are set to undergo a massive overhaul.

Thomas Müller for instance, has been ‘relegated’ to the role of a substitute by Tuchel. The Raumdeuter now makes more appearances off the bench than he does in the starting XI. The midfielder has been crucial to the team’s midfield in the last decade. Manuel Neuer edges closer to retirement as the Bayern captain has only recently recovered from a serious injury that kept him sidelined for over 10 months.

The coach has publicly censured Leon Goretzka in recent games. The German has, however, fought his way back into the starting line-up. Matthijs de Ligt, who was crucial to the Bayern defense last season has also seen his place be taken by Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. Alphonso Davies, untouchable at left-back for Bayern in recent years has also been seriously linked with Real Madrid. Fan groups and communities on social media have not ‘approved’ of this overhaul and have questioned Tuchel’s plans to ‘get rid of’ the ‘leaders’ in the dressing room.
