Thomas Muller received a special care package from the Indian Cricket Team which he unveiled in a short clip on ‘X’. It was a small box with an Indian Cricket Team jersey inside of it with Muller’s name on the back along with his Bayern Munich kit number, No.25 . The German then thanked the Indian Team for the gift and wished them good luck for the World Cup before putting on the jersey.

This has not been Muller’s first occurrence with an Indian Cricket Team jersey as the Bavarian shared his support for India back in 2019 with a photo of him wearing an Indian jersey along with a cricket bat with the caption.

The caption read:

I wish all participants of the Cricket #WorldCup2019 good luck & thrilling matches. Especially I cross my fingers for @imVkohli, the captain of the Indian team.

Thomas Muller visited India twice, in 2009 and 2011. The first time, he played for Bayern Munich II against East Bengal and Mayor’s XI, winning both matches convincingly. In 2011, Muller returned with Bayern Munich’s main team to play in Bhaichang Bhutia’s testimonial game, securing a 4-0 victory, with Muller scoring two goals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

Now, expressing his support for the Indian cricket team, Muller might need to wake up early due to the time difference between India and Europe, with India being more than four hours ahead.

The day before India’s opening World Cup game against Australia, Thomas Muller boosted their spirits with a message. He urged them to pursue their “teen ka dream,” signifying the ambition for a third World Cup win. India indeed emerged victorious in a closely contested match, possibly fueled by Muller’s encouraging words.

While India now focuses on the World Cup Semi-finals, Thomas Muller prepares for another round of International break after being called up by Germany manager, Julian Nagelsmann.
