Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have together dominated football for the last decade and a half. The duo together have set and broken innumerable records and continue to do so, as they enter the ending stages of their career.
Over the years, many players were tipped to emulate the duo, but no one ever really came close. And that’s what PSG star, Kylian Mbappe also thinks as he says that any player who compares themselves to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is ‘unaware’.

Speaking about the duo back in 2021, Kylian Mbappe said to Esquire, “I’m not the only one who knows, Everybody knows If you tell yourself that you will do better than them, it goes beyond ego or determination: it is lack of awareness.”
“Those players are incomparable. They have broken all the laws of statistics. They have had ten, fifteen extraordinary years.” He added, “You always compare yourself to the best in your sport, just as the baker compares himself to the best bakers around him.”
“Who makes the best croissant, the best pain au chocolate? I watch the games of other great players to see what they do. I know how to do this, but can the others do it too? I think other players are watching me too. I think that pushes footballers to elevate their game.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, 37 and Lionel Messi, 35 together have over 1600 career goals, adding the assists makes the number go over 200 even. There is no doubt that the duo are the best in the history of the game and will remain for a long time.
