Three possible clubs for Marco Asensio if he leaves Real Madrid this summer

Young Spaniard Marco Asensio may be looking to leave Real Madrid for the start of the next season. He has bagged minutes under manager Carlo Ancelotti. The 26-year-old made 31 appearances in La Liga this season and was widely used as a substitute by the Italian manager. He scored 12 goals in all competitions this season and played more than 2100 minutes.
Asensio clearly not being the first choice right-winger at Real Madrid, he would look for a new challenge in his career. He has been linked with moves away from the Bernabeu several times in his career.
Let us take a look at three possible clubs for which Marco Asensio can play next season:
Manchester United
Jorge Mendes, Marco Asensio’s agent, is hoping to bring the Real Madrid forward to Manchester United this summer. Manchester United’s team has a lot of gaps to fill, and with new manager Erik ten Hag in charge, the Spaniard might end up at Old Trafford.
Simply stated, unless the Red Devils want to spend hundreds of millions of dollars, they may have to choose between players on expiring contracts or free agents. Marco Asensio is one of the men that fall within this category. The Real Madrid player’s current contract expires in a year, leaving him unsure about his future plans.
Arsenal
Liverpool was the English club most closely associated with Asensio a few years ago. Arsenal, though, is the front-runners in the Premier League, since they were also interested last summer, with a €40 million move being discussed. The Gunners might make a play for the Spaniard if and when Real Madrid puts him on the market now that their purse strings have been freed.
Michael Arteta will be looking to work with the Spaniard at the Emirates next season and the gunners can use his creativity well enough alongside the likes of Odegaard and Smith-Rowe.
AC Milan
If Tottenham is the English club with which Real Madrid has done the most business in recent years, AC Milan is the Italian counterpart. Brahim Dáz and Theo Hernández both came to the San Siro in quest of playing time and have flourished, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Asensio did as well.
The Serie A Champions have new owners and will be aiming for a promising next season. Milan will definitely want the flair and creativity of Marco that can bring them more goals in the Italian league and the Champions League both.
