Three possible reasons why Paul Pogba is leaving Manchester United after six years

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba left Manchester United for Juventus as a free agent in 2012, only to rejoin four years later for a then-world-record sum of £89 million; Pogba’s second term at Old Trafford has been a rollercoaster, and he will depart again when his contract ends at the end of June.

United’s contract with the 28-year-old ends at the conclusion of the season. Ralf Rangnick previously stated that no contract negotiations had taken place with the player.

“Manchester United can confirm that Paul Pogba will leave the club at the end of June, when his contract expires,” United wrote at the outset of a long send-off statement on the club’s website.

Pogba joined United from French club Le Havre in 2009 and scored 39 goals in 233 first-team games. The 29-year-old, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, is set to leave United on a free transfer for the second time, with a return to Juventus a possibility.

He has been connected with teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City in recent months.

Possible Reasons for Paul Pogba’s departure from Manchester United

Paul Pogba for Manchester United

Since Jose Mourinho left the club in 2016, Paul Pogba has not found himself in the very best form of his life since. Pogba has clearly deteriorated and has even struggled to keep his place in the first team of the Red Devils.

When Pogba was brought into Manchester United he was the main midfield man for the Reds. His signing was planned in such a way that the buildup play would be done around him.

But since the arrival of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, he has certainly felt sidelined as Bruno has been the main presence in Man U‘s midfield. Pogba will certainly be looking to revive his career, and a move to Italy or France can benefit the World Cup winner.

Injuries have been another pivotal cause of Pogba‘s shaky time at Manchester United. The Frenchman has struggled to keep himself fit and in the very top level.
