Sergio Aguero was one of the highest-paid footballers in the Premier League when he played for Manchester City. In his final season with City, he was reportedly earning $295K per year and $15 million per year. With this much money, it’s a given that the striker would want to spend it on fancy cars,
Aguero has confessed many times that he loves cars. When he first arrived at FC Barcelona, the Argentinian purchased a Ferrari SF90 Stradale worth $500k. Along with that, he has a Lamborghini Aventador, Lumma CLR SV Range Rover, Nissan GT-R, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, and a Land Rover Evoque. When he left City, he held a raffle for the City staff so that he could give them the Evoque, which ended up going to the kit man.
Despite being the fastest car in his collection, Aguero has confessed it is the one car he has regretted purchasing. He bought the Lamborghini in 2014 from celebrity car seller, Yianni Charalambous for $1.5 million, but drove it only 1,200 kilometers. He ended up selling it because he never used it 7 years after the purchase.
In 2014 I spent 1.5 million dollars on a Lamborghini Aventador, drunk, I don't know why I bought it. It must have done 1,200 kilometers in six years, I barely used it, I just spent two years thinking why did I buy this car. Now all it does is get cold in the rain, it's got cobwebs and everything.Aguero on Santo Sabado in 2021
Sergio Aguero is also a huge Formula 1 fan, attending the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He made the news in the 2023 Abu Dhabi GP when he wore a race suit that had the Manchester City colors, badge, and sponsors.
What has Sergio Aguero been up to since retirement?
Sergio Aguero played just 5 games for La Liga giants, FC Barcelona, before being diagnosed with a heart condition. Just seven days after he scored his first goal for Barcelona, he had to be taken to the hospital due to discomfort in his chest. It was revealed that he had cardiac arrhythmia, which effectively made him retire.
