The 2022/23 season has been the worst in many years for Chelsea. The Blues have been below average this entire season and are likely to finish 12th without having any European Championship to play. This has happened with the club for the first time since 1996 and thus, the co-owner of the club, Todd Boehly, is set to step back from his responsibilities at Chelsea as per the latest news reports.
As per many reports, Todd Boehly is been using 50 percent of his working time to uplift the club. However, now his working time will be cut down to just 20 percent as new executives are taking the reign of Chelsea.
Todd Boehly will use this extra time to work on his other businesses as he is also the co-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers. Todd purchased Chelsea last year for 4.25 billion euros.
But in January he stepped down as the sporting director slowly giving up his responsibilities to the new executives that were coming in. Todd helped the club to sign players like Enzo Fernandez, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
But despite spending 600 million euros Chelsea was not able to step up on the points table and got defeated by small clubs continuously. The club also had to lower their ticket prices due to such disappointing performances.
The co-owner has spent a lot on the club but for this season everything went in vain. Todd quoted, “This season has not produced the results that any of us want.” He further told, “We know what we are working towards, but equally we know that will require hard work, determination, and commitment.”
Todd further said, “We all want to see Chelsea back where we belong and to share many more winning moments at Stamford Bridge.”

Was sacking Thomas Tuchel the biggest mistake of Chelsea?
Thomas Tuchel has helped Chelsea to win the Premier League and also the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City. Last season was great for both the manager and the club.
In the previous season, Chelsea finished third on the points table just below Man City and Liverpool. After Tuchel got sacked the club bought Graham Potter who even made things worse than ever. After Tuchle’s departure, the club made unnecessary and overpriced signings which led the club to downfall.
