Toni Kroos is set to stay and extend his contract at Real Madrid. The new contract will reportedly be valid until 2024. The news comes amid rumors of the German retiring at the end of the season.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to have played an important role in the midfielder staying at the club for one more season. The Italian believes Kroos is a player who can make a difference on the pitch and is capable of competing in an extremely physical football environment due to his talent and intelligence.
Kroos joined the Los Blancos from Bayern Munich at the start of the 2014/15 season post his World Cup triumph with Germany. The midfielder has since revealed that he has no intention of joining another club and wants to retire at the Madrid based outfit.
Kroos has made 405 appearances for the club since joining. He has also won three La Ligas and four Champions League titles.

Real Madrid are looking to boost their squad once the ongoing season ends. The Los Blancos are in the market looking to add a center forward and central midfielder.
The club wants to add a short-term replacement for Karim Benzema with Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic being considered. Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz are also on their radar but are considered too expensive for now.
With Luka Modric and Toni Kroos approaching the final years of their career, Real Madrid have their eyes on Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as long-term replacement. With Eduardo Camavinga’s future at the club being questioned, as he attracts interest from Manchester United, Barella or Bellingham might be an ideal solution.
