Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has replied to Gary Neville‘s comments on managers copying Pep Guardiola‘s tactics. A sly dig, humorous in nature, has made the football world a fan of the Australian manager.

Before the game against Bournemouth, Gary Neville made a comment on how managers adapt their style to Pep’. With the full-backs coming towards the center into the midfield. Gary would further comment that managers are actually making this tactic look quite ineffective. Manchester City boasts some of the best technical players in the world. With Pep Guardiola at the helm, the system works perfectly. But with Spurs in mind, Gary Neville has stated that the players will have to adapt if they wish to play in a similar fashion.

Ange Postecoglou, in a post-game interview, was asked by Joe Cole about his style of play. “I’m just copying Pep mate,” said the Aussie manager referring to Neville’s pre-game comments. Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners against the Cherries. A beautiful through ball by Sarr gave James Maddison his first goal for Spurs and put them ahead. A well-executed one-touch football between Son, Udogie, and Kulusevski gave them a 2-0 lead. Currently in 2nd place with 7 points, the Londoners are playing brilliant football. With their next game in the EFL cup against Fulham, they will be looking for their 3rd win in a row.

James Maddison has been a great signing so far. Joining Spurs for a fee of around £40m, the former Leicester City player is already a fan favorite. His link-up play from midfield to attack has already left the fans purring for more. Spurs acquired the services of Micky van de Ven for a similar fee from Wolfsburg. The young left-footed CB had a bit of a shaky first game but is now slowly making the back line his home. Only 23, Micky van de Ven was the second-fastest player in the Bundesliga which will prove to be useful against the pace of the Premier League.

Dejan Kulusevski‘s transfer from Juventus was made final after he spent a season on loan at Spurs. The winger’s explosive speed and dribbling ability will be a huge addition for the club and many of the fans are looking forward to his second season. Guglielmo Vicario signed from Empoli for a fee of around £16m. With Lloris coming of age, Spurs were looking for a new goalkeeper. Many of the Serie A fans believe that Vicario will be a great signing. His 1v1’s, athleticism, and reflexes are his strong points. The goalkeeper is set to stay till 2028.

The Lillywhites have also signed two young talents Ashley Philips from Blackburn and Alejo Véliz from Club Atlético Rosario Central. Alejo has already made his senior debut scoring 17 goals in 53 appearances. Many believe him to be an incredible talent.
