Tottenham Hotspur is still on the lookout for managers. Xabi Alonso who was among one of the managerial options has opted himself out. The former Liverpool player has confirmed that he would not like to find himself as an option for the manager of the Lilywhites.
The former Liverpool player who is now the manager of Bayern Leverkusen was considered by the Lilywhites as a candidate for replacement for Antonio Conte. But to an array of dismay, the Spanish tactician said, ‘I’m happy here with the team and the club, I’m not worried about my future’.
The denial of Xabi Alonso is another major rejection for Tottenham Hotspur. Recently Julien Nagelsmann, who was also considered a major candidate for the managerial position, was denied the offer. The likes of Xabi Alonso and Julien Nagelsmann have led to greater concern for Daniel Levy with very few managerial options left in hand and facing a race with time.
Ryan Mason is appointed as the interim manager of Tottenham Hotspur. The club has managed to win only one game out of their last five matches. They are placed seventh in the Premier League table and have no option to end up in the top four. Tottenham Hotspur is in dire need of a new permanent manager for a better run in the upcoming season.
Who could be the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur?
The sacking of Antonio Conte has not made anything better for the North London side. Tottenham Hotspur is yet on the lookout for managers as a successor to the Italian. With Xabi Alonso and Julien Nagelsmann already rejected, the club is bound to change its choice of managers.
Tottenham has not closed the options for Feyenoord boss Arne Slot. The Feyenoord manager has managed a formidable run becoming the league champion this season. Daniel Levy would definitely keep him as a potential option for becoming the successor of Antonio Conte.
The Spurs are also considering the options of Roberto De Zerbi. The Brighton and Hove Albion boss is having a brilliant run in the Premier League. The former Sassuolo boss has managed to win three of their last five games for the Seagulls. The option of Roberto De Zerbi for a team like Tottenham would be really far-fetched but an option cannot be left out.
There is no news as of yet about official communication between Daniel Levy’s Spurs with Brighton boss. The Spur have options to consider with time running out. With the transfer market knocking on the door, Daniel Levy will try to sort his managerial decision in real-time soon.
