Brazilian striker Richarlison will seek help from a psychologist in order to help him with his mentality. The player has had a tough start to the season with Tottenham Hotspur, which later extended to his national team performance. His poor start at Spurs has been no secret.

After managing only one goal in the Premier League last season, the Brazilian has not been able to perform for the Londoners. With the departure of Harry Kane, the pressure has been piling on him as the team has lost a 30-goal a season player. The player who is now the main man upfront will be under Ange Postecoglou. His watchful eye as the coach must decide whether to continue starting the player or search for new options elsewhere.

In order to tackle his poor performances, Richarlison has revealed what he must do. “Iโ€™m going to go back to England, seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind,” said the Brazilian. The striker had a lot of opportunities to score last season but was unable to convert his chances.

“Itโ€™s about getting a good streak at Tottenham,” the striker said. He aims to be Ange Postecoglou’s number-one choice upfront. The player seems to now be focusing on his mentality rather than questioning his own ability. Richarlison played his final game of the international break against Peru. The player was subbed out in the 64th minute of the game.

Dele Alli once revealed the kind of stress and pressure he was dealing with in an interview with Gary Neville. Following this, social media came out in support of the player. Conversations started floating around about the mental health of football players. The pressure they face and the messages and comments they receive sometimes affect their mental health.

Dele Alli is one of the many football players who decided to seek out help for the mental issues he faced due to being a footballer. Andreas Iniesta is another famous name who wrote about his mental problems. In his book, ‘The Artist: Being Iniesta’, the player revealed the weight of pressure and expectations he faced as a Barcelona player. โ€œI keep going to therapy because I need to mend things with myself,” he once stated.

Ronaldo Nazario is another big name to have admitted to going to therapy. โ€œToday, I am in therapy. I have been in therapy for two and a half years and I understand myself much better than before,” he said. Ronaldo, a player who is well-respected amongst generations and is considered the greatest of all, had his career riddled with horrible knee injuries.

Players of the past and present have all faced different issues throughout their careers. While care has always been given to injuries of a physical kind, ignoring those of a mental kind is detrimental.
