Transfer News: Barcelona reportedly reaches an agreement with Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta, set to sign a two-year contract with the Spaniard

According to reports, Barcelona is all set to sign Chelsea’s skipper, Cesar Azplicueta on a two-year contract as they look to strengthen their defence after they failed to win the La Liga title this year. The defence line has been under question throughout the season through injuries and suspensions.

Barcelona will have to regroup for the next season and firstly they need to make out the problems in their core defence with Gerard Pique and Arauja being the first choice. Umtiti and Legnlet are unused this season which opens up the possibility of signing a new defensive wall, likely to be Azplicueta.

Chelsea’s defender Azpilicueta is the best option for Xavi’s side and will act as reinforcements as they offer a two year deal with a chance to increase it to three seasons if the club wants.
