Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, a 28-year-old Yeni Malatyaspor goalkeeper, became a victim in the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. The quake was on early Monday morning, and so far, it has killed almost 7,000 people. There have been four earthquakes and more than six aftershocks so far. Turkey has declared an emergency. Many nations are trying to help Turkey in Syria.

After the earthquake, the goalkeeper was reported missing and was discovered in the wreckage by rescue workers. “Sorry for your loss. Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, lost his life after being under the collapse of the earthquake. Rest in peace. We will not forget you, beautiful person,” Turkaslan’s club Yeni Matalyaspor confirmed his death on social media. “RIP brother Eyup Ahmet Turkaslan. One moment you can see someone in the dugout; the next moment, they’re gone. My condolences to all his family and teammates at Yeni Malatyaspor. Devastating to hear and wish we can all continue to help everyone in need,” Yannick Bolasie tweeted for the following incident.

Turkaslan played as a goalkeeper for the 20th-placed Turkish second-division team. The club had initially announced that the player was in a building in Kahramanmaras which was destroyed in the initial quake. The club had released a statement saying, “TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE COMMON! Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, is in the building that was damaged and destroyed in the earthquake. Search and rescue efforts continue. As of now, there has been no news from him yet. Do not miss your prayers”. He joined the top-flight club last season and was yet to register an appearance.

Former Newcastle and Chelsea player Christian Atsu was also in the following incident, but he was later found alive, and now he is in stable condition. In 2013 Ahmet Eyup started his career and joined the club in 2021 and only made six appearances. The catastrophe has been disastrous, and reports say that the death toll can rise up to 10,000 people.

Christian Atsu has been found alive

After the earthquake struck Syria and Turkey early Monday morning, Christian Atsu went missing. After the rescue workers started searching for the survivors, he was found alive in the rubble. He is now in the hospital and is receiving treatment. Atsu was playing

“We are relieved to hear Christian Atsu has been found and is recovering in the hospital,” Everton tweeted. Atsu was reported missing after his teammates and technical staff were found alive. There have been over a hundred aftershocks; many buildings have turned to ashes. In 2022, he joined Hatayspor, played three games, and scored one goal for the club.
