Real Madrid and Chelsea’s Champions League 2021 Quarter-Final second leg tie was a cracker of a game with the Los Blancos emerging victorious over the Blues. Although the match ended 3-2 in favor of Chelsea, it was Real Madrid, which won it on aggregate. Karim Benzema delivered yet again to score the second goal for Real Madrid that took them 5-4 on aggregate, sending the Spanish side to the semi-finals.
Chelsea started the game superbly and dominated most of the game which didn’t allow Real Madrid to take any control. Its dominance was paid off when Mason Mount opened the scoring followed by Rudiger and Timo Werner. Real Madrid’s goalscorers were Rodrygo and Karim Benzema. Chelsea started the game with 3-1 against them but pulled the tie on their head just before Rodrygo and Benzema destroyed their hopes of moving ahead further in the champions league.

Vinicius Jr. has put up a great show in Madrid as he dominated the left-wing all by himself and took Recce James to sleep as he dribbled past the Chelsea defense several times in the game. He assisted Benzema for the second goal of the night that took them to the semi-finals of UEFA Champions League 2021-22.
Karim Benzema has been all over the tie and has single-handedly taken Real Madrid to the next round. He scored a hat-trick in the first leg and scored the second goal for Madrid and took the aggregate score to 5-4 for the Whites.
Luka Modric has been a gem of a player after his magnificent assist to set up Rodrygo for the all-important goal before the game ended to keep Real Madrid’s hopes alive. His assist from outside of his right boot is a treat to watch. This kind of pass should go into the Hall of Fame as Rodrygo just had to tap the ball in from an inch-perfect assist from Modric.
Real Madrid set to lock horns against Manchester City or Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League 2021-22
After surviving a tough battle against Chelsea, Real Madrid will face the winner of the clash between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, which will take place on Thursday.
As of now, the Citizens enjoy a 1-0 lead on aggregate over Atleti because of the strike from Kevin de Bruyne. However, they will be playing away from home in the second leg, putting some extra pressure on Guardiola’s men.
