Real Madrid pulled an epic comeback to book their place in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool as they stun Manchester City. Manchester City had a two-goal cushion till the 90th minute of the game but two death goals from Rodrygo in 2 minutes took the game to extra time and Real Madrid went on to win it from there at the hands of Guardiola’s side.

The Los Blancos came from Etihad Stadium with one goal down and the second leg was all to play for. Riyad Mahrez scored the opening goal as they extend their lead to two-goal but the super-sub Brazilian striker Rodrygo pulled two goals right at the death to bring the tie on level terms and took it to extra time where Benzema’s penalty sent them to the final.

Rodrygo and Benzema duo took the Los Blancos into the final at Paris against Liverpool in the extra time as the former scored twice in the 90th minute to pull an epic comeback and Benzema took the tie away from Guardiola’s men as he scored the winner from the penalty spot to give Madrid a 6-5 lead on aggregate. Karim Benzema equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of the most goals in the UCL knockout stages.

Manchester City took the lead from Riyad Mahrez’s goal in the 73rd minute and just had to hold on for a few more minutes to reach the finals for an all-England UCL final but lost it to the King of Europe just at the dying moment end of the game.

They had a crucial lead in the first leg as they came to Madrid with a 4-3 lead and added to the lead till the super-sub Rodrygo came in the field and conquered the tie single-handedly.

Real Madrid is into the finals of the UCL 2021/22 season and will face Liverpool on their road to the 14th champions league glory. They came past Chelsea and Manchester City to put their name in the final in Paris and will lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s inevitable. Real Madrid had a slender trail of one goal as they started the second leg semifinal match at the Bernabeu and had a frustrating first half as they failed to capitalize on their chances.

In the second 45-minutes Pep’s side got the first goal of the match to increase the aggregate lead to 5-3 but two late goals from Madrid’s super-sub Rodrgyo helped the overcome the setback and take the match into extra time. Benzema scored from the spot to take the Los Blancos to yet another UCL final.
