The 2022 FIFA World Cup has arguably given the match of the tournament till now as Japan came from behind to beat European giants Germany in the Group E opening match. Manchester City star Gundogan gave the Germans the lead after scoring from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute of the game.

Although Germany put in a great performance but was tactically denied by the Japanese coach Hajime Moriyasu. The game ended with a scoreline of 1-2 in Japan‘s favor. The Asian side scored both their goals late in the second half. Goals from Japanese stars Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano gave Japan a dream start to their FIFA World Cup campaign.

The German coach Hansi Flick failed to grab his first World Cup win against the Asians after a mixed performance by the players. Neither the tactics of the coach nor any player’s individual effort could save the day for Germany. Germany’s unexpected loss came in the presence of star players like Joshua Kimmich, Antonio Rudiger, and Jamal Musiala on the pitch.

The Twitter community never fails to make people laugh as Germany gets brutally trolled on social media after losing to 24th-ranked Japan in their opening game of the tournament.

Germany had all the odds in their favor before the kickoff as Hansi Flick named his strongest lineup ahead of their first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup but it wasn’t to defeat the Japanese. This is how Twitter reacted:

Japan once again stunned the world after an astonishing comeback against European giants Germany. Probably the most entertaining game of this tournament so far, Japan taught a valuable lesson to Hansi Flick and his men to never count out Asian teams in the World Cup.

Both of these teams are yet to face Spain and Costa Rica in the group stages. Spain will take on Costa Rica today hoping to clench all 3 points to take the leverage over European rivals Germany.
