Two more clubs reject Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United’s humiliating loss against Brentford

Cristiano Ronaldo’s chances of playing in the Champions League this year appear to be dwindling as Inter and AC Milan are the most recent clubs to reportedly turn down the chance to sign him away from Manchester United.
After Saturday’s humiliating 4-0 loss to Brentford, Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure at the start of the new season and left the field without even saying goodbye to coach Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo desires to add to his record 140 Champions League goals, but United’s season-ending sixth-place finish in the Premier League makes that impossible.
Between the end of June and the start of July, the super agent called the two Milanese clubs. Understanding whether there would be enough room to bring the storied superstar of Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United back to Italy was the objective.
Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in playing for the two Milan clubs because he wants to participate in the Champions League competition once more. According to Corriere Dello Sport, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes contacted both Milan teams earlier this summer, but the teams were compelled to look for alternatives due to their financial obligations.
“A call from the super agent to the two Milanese clubs happened between the end of June and beginning of July,” as per Milan Reports. “The goal was to understand if there were the margins to bring the legendary superstar of Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United back to Italy.”
“The two Milan clubs are desired destinations for Cristiano Ronaldo because he wants to play in the Champions League again. The attempt, however, immediately evaporated due to the €24 million salary of the Portuguese.”
Cristiano Ronaldo had a successful spell at Seria A with Juventus winning the Scudetto two times
Despite winning the Serie A championship with Juventus in 2019 and 2020 and scoring 101 goals in 134 games during his three seasons there, Ronaldo’s chances of returning to Italy are all but gone. Former AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza has also rejected any rumours of a transfer.
“Is Cristiano Ronaldo leaving United? Lucky him,” said the former Italian prime minister. “We didn’t give him a thought, these great players don’t come in a newly promoted one. It’ll take us some time, we’ve tried to strengthen the team, we’ll take some time to oil the mechanisms.”
