I want to keep being in the top four position in the table. I want to keep it because if we are keeping it, we could be contenders. That’s what I want to do. It’s still in my plans to win a trophy, play in the Europa League and the Champions League with Aston Villa. But, in two months, I could change. It depends on what we are doing. I also want to get something more from the Conference League. Today, I want to enjoy. Then, I want to beat Burnley.

Furthermore, Emery confirmed that the owners of the club are always in contact with the management. Looking for ways to improve the club. He also added that the owners are supportive and despite the tough chances to improve, they’re always there.

Unai Emery’s time at Aston Villa

Before joining Aston Villa, Unai Emery managed Arsenal for 18 months. Although he managed to reach the Europa League Final in 2019, his domestic performances left many fans and the club unhappy. He was sacked in November 2019, just four months into the season, he was sacked and replaced by Mikel Arteta.

He returned to Spain, managing Villarreal. With a good stint at the club. Aston Villa decided to hire Emery as their club struggled in the relegation zone. What followed was the Spaniard rebuilding the club and bringing immediate success. In his first match, they lost 3-1 to Manchester United but soon gained form and reached the top 7. Ever since their 2-4 loss to Arsenal at home in February 2023, they have not lost a single game at Villa Park.

In the current season, they have 42 points after 20 matches. They are tied with Liverpool, who have played one game less. If they do want to stay in the Title race, they will need to fend off Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs, and Liverpool.
