USMNT coach Gianni Vio has compared Christian Pulisic to Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero. Pulisic’s fantastic solo goal against Germany during this International break drew the comparison.

In the 27th minute, Pulisic grabbed the ball on the left side of the field. He glided past three German players and skillfully curled the ball into the right side of the net, leaving German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen rooted to the spot.

US set-piece coach Gianni Vio expressed his amazement in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, saying, “Pulisic scored an extraordinary goal against Germany, it reminded me of Del Piero… They are players with excellent quality, so I am not surprised they play for Juventus or Milan.”

In his interview, Gianni Vio had high praise for the 25-year-old AC Milan star, calling him “high-level” and commending Milan for signing a top athlete from Chelsea. However, the USA lost the game when Germany scored three goals in response to Pulisic’s impressive goal.

Yet, the USMNT bounced back, defeating Ghana 4-0 at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee, with Pulisic scoring again. Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic will return to club duties this weekend as AC Milan welcomes Juventus to the San Siro.

Currently, the joint top-scorer for AC Milan in the Serie A this season, Christian Pulisic’s 4 goals and 1 assist have proven vital for AC Milan’s current form. The Milan-based side is currently sitting on top of the Italian League winning 7 out of their 8 fixtures – losing 5-1 to Inter Milan earlier this season. Pulisic has quickly become a favorite not only with the fans but also with the commentators who shouted “USA! USA! USA!” after the player scored against Torino back in August.

AC Milan lifted their last Serie A title back in the 2021/22 season. Now with Christian Pulisic – along with Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leão – leading the lines of AC Milan and current champions Napoli having a poor start to the season, the Rossoneri will be looking to lift their 20th Serie A title.
