Vincent Kompany returns to English football after 3 years as the new manager of Burnley
Vincent Kompany
Former Manchester City captain, Vincent Company has been appointed as the new manager of Burnley after they were relegated from the Premier League last season. Burnley dropped to 18th on the Premier League table on the final day as they lost to Newcastle United.
Vincent Kompany will take over the reins from Sean Dyche who spent close to 10 years at the club, helping them reach the Premier League and surviving for almost 6 years. However, the manager was eventually sacked in April following Burnely’s dismal performances.

Vincent Kompany joined the likes of Gerrard, Arteta and more as he begins his managerial career
Vincent Kompany will join Burnely from Anderlecht where he started his managerial career. The former Manchester City player chose Turf Moor likely to stay close to his family in North West England after also attracting interest from the Bundesliga club.
However, Kompany won’t find it all easy to manage a club like Burnley in England. Not enough credit is given to Sean Dyche who managed to keep Burnley in the Premier League despite having a far lower budget and often having smaller squads as well.
Kompany’s objective this season would be to secure promotion to the Premier League. Many have tipped the former city player to take inspiration from a former Manchester United player, Wayne Rooney, who has been managing a financially stricken Derby County.
Vincent Kompany spent close to 11 seasons at Manchester City becoming a legend of the club. He played 360 games for the club scoring some spectacular goals for them. The Belgian also won 4 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups and 2 Community Shields during his time at the Ethiad.
