Vinicius Jr. labels Real Madrid’s 4-0 Copa del Rey victory over Barcelona as ‘Remontada’

Vinicius Jr captioned on Instagram about the team’s success after destroying Barcelona 4-0 on Wednesday progressing to the finals of the Copa del Rey after a wait of nine years. He praised Real Madrid after coming back from a one-goal deficit in the first leg and turnaround the result in which he contributed himself with a goal and an assist.

He posted, “Remontada y Final = REAL MADRID “, which translates to “Comeback and final = Real Madrid”. Los Blancos do have a history of comebacks most recently during the 2021-22 season where they turned a 4-3 deficit in the first leg into a 3-1 in the second leg against Manchester City in the UCL semifinals winning 6-5 on an aggregate and eventually marched on for Champions League triumph.

They achieved a similar feat after beating Barcelona overturning a slender margin. In both comebacks, the Brazilian played a pivotal role in either scoring or providing assists. They now have the chance for a double in the Spanish competition and the Champions League after being underwhelming otherwise being 12 points off first place, their worst tally since the 2018-19 season.
